Google constantly strives to provide its users with the most useful and relevant information, whether it’s through Knowledge Graph or combating fake news. And with their recently added new search feature that lets users find more information about a site before clicking on the search result, they prove the same.
Google offers an online dictionary service of its own that lets its users find the meaning of a word in Google search using the define operator. On top of that, it is available in many different languages and Google continues to add more to it with time to offer better suggestions.
Now, Google’s dictionary and translation tool come with an add-on feature called Google Word Coach.
What is Google Word Coach?
Google Word Coach is an excellent tool for people who want to test and expand their English vocabulary. It is a vocabulary game that was made available along with the dictionary and translate tool to help people learn new words with fun. Interestingly, it presents users with the questionnaire in the form of a quiz game and some of them include images too.
With every correct answer, it awards you with some points, and after every round of 5 questions, it displays your total score. Users can share their scores with friends or family members and compete with them while learning and exploring the language. It also provides users with an explanation behind the correct answer after every round for a better understanding and learning experience.
Google Word Coach was launched in 2018 and appeals to all kinds of users, whether they are beginners or experts in the English language. Initially, the tool was launched in some of the major non-English speaking countries like India, but Google is planning to expand it to other countries and languages too.
How to open Google Word Coach?
Users can launch the Word Coach by going into the Google or Chrome app on mobile phones and searching for “Google Word Coach” or simply “Word Coach”. There is no standalone application for it as of now, but users can enable its direct launch icon from search which can be added anywhere on the home screen of the mobile phone for single-click access.
The tool presents five questions in every round, with most of them related to synonyms and antonyms. There will be two options to choose the correct answer. If you’re not sure about the answer, there’s an option to skip the question too.
After every single round, the total score will be shown which can be shared on social media or messaging apps. However, once you close the browser, the scores get reset and you will have to start from 0.

With the Word Coach tool, Google has aimed to deploy an interesting way to test and improve English vocabulary. Users will come across new words and their meanings which increases their word stock in English. Certainly, this is one of the best tools online in its category.
